Safai Karmachari Andolan
Safai Karmachari Andolan is a movement that aims to eradicate manual scavenging from India. The movement began with the efforts of youth from the community, led by Bezawada Wilson, who was born into the family of manual scavengers, and had seen the injustice meted out to them all his life. The following illustrations were created to accompany a visual narrative explaining briefly the history of the movement. The full story can be viewed on the Safai Karmachari Andolan's website.

Suppressed Images
In late 2016, I collaborated with artist biohacker Heather Dewey-Hagborg, and US whistle blower Chelsea Manning, to create a comic that documents how DNA portraits of Chelsea were created as a creative alternative to traditional photography, at a time when the law forbade photographs of Chelsea being taken and released to the media. The comic ends with a plea to the Obama government to commute Chelsea's prison sentence. This comic was released on January 16th 2017, and as a miraculous coincidence, President Obama commuted Chelsea's sentence on January 17th 2017. The comic also highlights the importance of speaking freely and never giving in to views one does not believe in.

This comic was first published in the Indian Quarterly, 2015. It is based on a dream I had one night.
Black Panther and Little Fish
This comic was first published in the Indian Quarterly, 2014. It is a surreal story about obsession, claustrophobia, and desire - a desire to run away and escape.
Wealth Inequality in India
The statistics for wealth inequality in India for 2017 is startling to say the least. Yet numbers alone are unable to show the extent of this inequality. In the serious of infographics below I have looked at various ways to explore one simple story, visually: How does one show the wealth disparity in India quickly and effectively - such that the message will have immediate impact when viewed on social media, given quick attention spans.
Infographics have a lot of potential to convey statistical data visually in a manner that is easy for the viewer to comprehend quickly. The following four infographics look at different stories ranging from wealth inequality in India, a news story related Jayalalitha, and an exposition of the data released by the RBI during demonitization. In the design, care has also been taken to ensure that the width of the stories are mobile friendly.

Editorial Design for McKinsey and Company
During my time as a senior graphic designer at McKinsey and Company, I designed and art directed numerous publications for the McKinsey quarterly. I worked on the layout design and the information graphics of the publications and also worked with top illustrators from around the world to create images that would appropriately reflect the theme and tone of the article.
